Alexia Walker is an independent art advisor currently based in Johannesburg. She established the art advisory Walker Art to help collectors build their collection and better understand and manage the value of their art. She has modern and contemporary art expertise with a special focus on Africa.

She works with private, corporate and institutional clients and has recently developed the contemporary African art collection for The Africa Centre in London. She is also a board member at the Javett-UP Art Centre.

Alexia is a regular contributor in the media, has written the art advisory column in the Business Day since 2016 and taken part in panel discussions about collecting African art.

Alexia is also the co-founder of Capital Art, a tech startup to help collectors manage their collections and specifically designed to support modern and contemporary African art.

Prior to establishing Walker Art, Alexia co-founded the art advisory Walker Scott, was a business consultant in the art auction and advertising sectors (including at Aspire Art Auctions), and owned businesses in the marketing and music industries.

She grew up in Paris and holds a Master in contemporary art history from Université de La Sorbonne.
